The Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival will be holding a 30th anniversary screening of The Burning, and screening the cult classic Street Trash on October 26th – 30th at the Screening Room Cinema Café in Buffalo, New York. Street Trash writer Roy Frumkes will be joining actress Melantha Blackthorn as two of the festival’s special guests. Frumkes will receive the “Dedication to Excellence in Independent Filmmaking Award” and will also be screening his documentary, The Definitive Document of the Dead.
Buffalo Screams is accepting film and screenplay submissions until September 15th.

The 2nd Annual Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival (Horror Yearbook ON THE SCENE: Buffalo Screams) is calling for entries for its 2011 edition. The event has been expanded from four nights to five and has added Student and Medium Length film categories for movies, and Student, Short, and Medium categories for the screenplay competition. The deadline for submissions is September 15th, 2011.
Charles Band released the trailer for Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver, but no official release date. Chicago Full Moon fans should check out the page for Full Moon’s Flashback Weekend. On Saturday April 9, 2011 Band will be hosting A Tribute to Barbara Crampton, with 35mm screenings of Re-Animator, From Beyond and Castle Freak. Crampton will be there with Robin Sydney from Evil Bong 1-3.

The 10th annual Shriekfest announced its 2010 winners. The Grand Jury prize for Best Horror Feature Film went to Ashes — about an obsessive doctor who creates an aggressive new bacteria while trying to cure AIDS. Transfer directed by Damir Lukacevic won the Best Fantasy Feature Film award, and Serum 1831 directed by Anand Kanna took the Best Short Film prize.
The winner of the Best Horror Feature Screenplay went to Dead Crows written by Chris Todd and the winner of the Best Short Screenplay goes to “Carbon Dating” written by Louis Rosenberg.
