I normally avoid Blu-ray news, but for some reason this got me excited. Maybe it’s because I’m a huge Planet of the Apes fan, who isn’t? Anyway the original (Not Tim Burton’s poop-fest) 1968 classic will get the Blu-ray treatment on November 4th. All the juicy info is below.

Shriekfest is a great homespun kind of festival. It’s an intimate affair held at the Raleigh Studios in famous Hollywood, CA. I’m pretty big on the shorts the fest chooses because they are uniformly excellent but this year I could only manage to see two of the features, Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown & Dark Reel… What I love so much about this festival is that not only is Raleigh Studios a fantastic studio to visit but you can sometimes find yourself hobnobbing with the likes of Harry Manfredini or Tony Todd, like I did this year. What can I say, it makes me feel important. So there.

The remake of the wonderful horror classic Night of the Demons started principle photography on Friday, October 3, and we were just sent the first picture of the famous Hull House, but its not being called Hull House! What the hell? It looks like Angela’s party has been moved from an abandoned funeral parlor to a place called Broussard Mansion in New Orleans. Also the studio has promised us that a “ton of gory production stills” will be coming soon, until then this picture will have to do, but we promise to keep you updated.

Poor, poor Corey Haim, no wonder why he is addicted to drugs these days. At one time he was on-top-of-the-world, every teen girl wanted him, and every homosexual boy wanted to be him, but look at him now! He has been reduced to starring on a reality TV show, walking the red carpet at the 6th Annual Eyegore Awards and talking to Bloody Disgusting’s Spooky Dan. You know as soon as his chat with Dan was over, he headed for the nearest bathroom stall and ingested a mass amount of crack, or heroin, (or whatever his drug of choice is these days).

Filming for George Romero’s new, untitled zombie movie begins today, but what is he filming? A sequel to Diary of the Dead? A remake of Lucio Fulci’s Zombie? Or just a new friggen zombie movie? Horror Movie Fans’ Sebastian Taro Groth says, his source, “news agencies who tried to be more credible” (meaning not Horror Yearbook), say that the new film is NOT a sequel to Diary at all, but just a zombie film on an island, much like Fulci’s Zombie.

Genre fans love Jessica Alba, so you think they would love this Declare Yourself Ad, where she is sporting a Hannibal Lecter type mask, but its not very sexy. I’d rather be looking at pictures of her ass. (Can you believe none of our sites have a good picture of Jessica Alba’s ass? What the hell is wrong with us?) Anyway you may remember she also recreated some famous horror scenes for Latina Magazine sometime in the past.

The wonderful people over at Bloody-Disgusting.com just published the poster for the American remake of Tale of Two Sisters. It looks like every other J-Horror Remake poster, but I guess every horror poster, looks like every other horror poster now doesn’t it. The title of the American version is The Uninvited, not to be confused with the movie that stars a killer cat with a rat in its mouth, or the 1944 film or the other 10 movies with the same name.

Lets call today the official “Horror Yearbook needs to eat day,” and what better way than to milk the Saw franchise’s money gushing teet. We already pimped the Saw V Trailer Mashup and Contest and now we are pimping Saw V pictures, but the lazy way of course. If you head on over to Horrormovies.ca you can check out 18 — count’em 18 Saw pictures. There are pictures of people with boxes on their heads, tape recorders, and some bald guy.
