If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that the Red Cross doesn’t want my alcohol-thinned, disease-infested blood, but maybe they will still take yours. Here is yet again another — Saw V Blood Drive poster.

I don’t know how I missed this but Horrormovies.ca reported on Aug 13, that the new horror/comedy Jennifer’s Body did have a Megan Fox nude scene, but they CUT IT!
A new Leprechaun movie is way overdue, and talk about the Lep going back to the old West is stupid. After the great Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood a Leprechaun western would be a step backwards, the only thing that could raise the franchise to “classic” status is if they make: 1) Leprechaun: The Musical or 2) Leprechaun vs Wishmaster.
I have been getting these disturbing letters in the mail; First was a missing poster for the Scream Queen Tiffany Shepis. Next was one of those cut-out-letters that read “If you want to see Tiffany Shepis alive…” and last was a handwritten fan letter splattered with blood (see below). At first I thought they were being sent by Eric Morse (Sorry inside joke), but they really are just a cute marketing campaign for the new movie Zombthology.
Personally I could care less about another Evil Dead movie. Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell fans are lame and annoying, but I know a lot of horror fans would be much happier with a fourth movie, instead of a remake.
However all these talks about it are starting to be a bit of a bore. They’re making it, they’re not, someone thought about making it, someone’s brother of somebody somewhere did something, blah, blah, blah. Just wake me up when they are actually shooting it.
Twilight fans should be excited to know that they will be able to see Twilight the movie a little earlier this year; Summit Entertainment has bumped the release date up from December, 12, 2008 to November 21, 2008 for North America.
The new vampire film based on Stephenie Meyer’s books, Twilight is not going to be any Lost Boys 2: The Tribe that is for sure. Everything that has been released (including these three new pictures) have been pretty tame. (Watch Trailer Here). The books are more for the tween crowd, kind of like that Blood and Chocolate movie that came out a few years ago. I, for one, am glad that the tween crowd has their own brand of horror films, maybe they can stop ruining good slasher films like Prom Night now.
Polygon Entertainment is gearing up to milk the mutant monster craze in Korea. They have two monster films slated for release; Sector 7 and Chaw.
Twitch Films reports that Sector 7, is about “a crew of an oil rig battling deep-sea monsters” and Chaw, is an “action adventure/thriller about a small village being terrorized by a man-eating, mutant boar. Its directed by Shin Jeong-won (Sisily 2km) and stars Eom Tae-woong, Jang Hang-seon, Yoon Je-moon, Jeong Yu-mi and Pak Hyeok-kwon.”
Writer J.D. Feigelson, who brought us the great Dark Night of the Scarecrow, will be on Horror Movie Fans Radio tonight (08-10-08). I’m unsure if he is on Horror Movie Fans Indie at 8pm EST or the later show at 10pm EST. You can check the official website http://www.blogtalkradio.com/HMFRadio, the time should be posted on there sometime today.
UPDATE: Lionsgate has informed me that: “Even though their symbol is not on the poster, The Red Cross is still actually partnered with Lionsgate in this campaign.” I apologize for my bad joke, they really do want your blood!
I don’t think anyone predicted that The Dark Knight would rule the box office for three-straight weeks. So releasing Midnight Meat Train a few weeks after its debut didn’t seem like too bad of an idea. However Lionsgate decided to only drop it in 100 theaters with names like La Mirada Dollar Movie 7. Can you guess what happened? It only made $32,000. It is almost like that old Fantastic Four movie, Lionsgate had to release it in theaters so they did, just not that many.
Hopefully they plan a kick-ass DVD release and horror fans can finally see the damn thing. Poor Clive Barker must be rolling in his grave… Oh wait he’s not dead!
Rob Zombie keeps pumping out the cool looking pictures for his upcoming T-Rex movie. Hopefully the movie is as great as all the art.
John Carpenter hasn’t had a movie in theaters since Ghosts of Mars, so hearing that he is teaming up with Nicolas Cage for a new film is good news. Even if its not a horror film.
Hollywood Reporter:
Nicolas Cage and director John Carpenter are in final negotiations to team up for a prison thriller titled Scared Straight…
We got two new Dead Space videos, the first is Dead Space Comic Book Video #4, it is the newest animated comic video to come out of Dead Space, and continues to follow the back story behind life on the Ishimura before it all went to hell. Second from the developers comes - Developer Diary, “Creating Terror”.
Wes Craven told MTV: “There has been talk between Bob Weinstein and me about doing another ‘Scream.’” That makes me willing to bet he will definitely be directing the fourth film, however you do have to remember, the last time he worked with the Weinsteins it ended up as the disaster called, Cursed.
“My last experience [with the Weinsteins] was kind of rough with “Cursed” so it would have to be under very very controlled circumstances.”
