This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are three awesome horror flicks that all feature the stunningly beautiful cult film actress Lynn Lowry! Lynn has a very unique beauty and presence that really makes her stand out amongst the pack of other, more well known genre actresses. In honor of the lovely Lynn Lowry, LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!

Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol.11: Revenge!

This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a terrible trio of hardcore exploitation favorites. Three classic genre flicks filled with racism, violence, rape, & most importantly: REVENGE! I love flicks where lots of scumbags get wasted, especially when they really have it coming – and these are three of the very best! *WARNING* These flicks are not for the weak! If you suffer from overt political correctness or from the lack of a sense of humor you really shouldn’t bother reading any further.

Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol.10 – The flicks that warped my mind!

Looking back I watched a LOT of fucked up horror flicks at what was arguably an inappropriately young age. (around 8 -10 years old) My parents would often rent horror movies or watch them on cable and I was almost always allowed to watch with them. The only time I wasn’t allowed to watch was when any nudity or sex was happening. My Mother would command me to cover my eyes whenever a nubile young camper would gamely expose her tits, and would only tell me it was ok to look when the same girl was about to be decapitated with a shovel! For this week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPTS I’m proud to present seven flicks that undoubtedly warped my mind. These are the flicks that made Brain Hammer the man he is today.

You just might bang your head till you bleed!

Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol. 7

This week’s column is all about some good old fashioned r & r. I’m not talking about rest & relaxation, I’m talking RAPE & REVENGE! This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are the three flicks that I lovingly refer to as “The David Hess Trilogy”: “Last House On The Left”, “Hitch Hike”, and my favorite – “House On The Edge Of The Park”. If the massive amounts of sexual sadism, torture, humilation, and suffering contained within start to overwhelm you, just repeat to yourself – “It’s only a column…only a column…only a column…

Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol. 4: Hooper – Cunningham & Carpenter

Gory greetings from the crypt! When I was thinking about doing a weekly column for horror yearbook I eventually decided that I wanted to review flicks that I think are often overlooked or under appreciated by most horror fans. This weeks column is exactly what I had in mind! This weeks PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are three of my favorite flicks by three of the most famous and important directors in horror history – Tobe Hooper, Sean S. Cunningham, and my personal favorite, John Carpenter!

Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol. 3

In this weeks PICKS FROM THE CRYPT I have cooked up a cheese lovers feast! I hope you’re hungry! Not the usual “terrible trio” of reviews, this week I’m proud to serve up a sampling of six slices of especially ripe & cheesy 80′s horror! These flicks all deliver heaping helpings of blood and guts. They also meet your daily recommended requirements for gratuitous nudity and cheap, often unintentional laughs.

Brain Hammer’s Picks From the Crypt 2: The Films of Bob Clark

In honor of Bob Clark, this week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are the three films that comprise Bob Clark’s “horror trilogy”. Well not really a trilogy, but three of the all time great horror flicks in my opinion. All three are unique and extremely well made. Watching these superior flicks, it’s hard to believe this is the same director that later in his career offered up dung like “Baby Geniuses” to an unsuspecting, yet completely deserving world!
