This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a terrible trio of 80’s slasher flicks that are often overlooked or criminally underrated by fans and critics. I consider these flicks to be lost classics from the golden era of slashers. Sadly, as of yet there have been no proper dvd releases for these relatively obscure horror favorites, but I’d guess it’s only a matter of time. These are superior slashers that deliver the ample amounts of boobs and blood that deviants desire. LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!
This my favorite album of the year by far. Necro delivers another masterpiece. I thought it would be tough for Necro to top his previous release “The Pre-Fix For Death,” but “Death Rap” is unquestionably Necro’s best album to date.
This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a terrible trio of 80’s pseudo-slashers. Not exactly straight slasher flicks perhaps, but certainly violent and brutal efforts that should satisfy even hardcore slasher fans. These are classic genre flicks that all feature psycho killers stalking and slashing their female victims. Ladies, lock your doors – or LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!
Gory greetings! This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are the three notorious horror films that comprise the legendary H.G. Lewis “Blood” trilogy: “Blood Feast,” “Two Thousand Maniacs,” and “Color Me Blood Red!” These pioneering efforts are personal favorites of mine, and should be considered mandatory viewing for all splatter flick fans.
This week’s column is dedicated to director William Girdler. William began a tragically short, yet incredibly prolific film career in 1972 with the release of his first picture - “Asylum Of Satan.” He then went on to make eight more films over the next six years before dying in a helicopter crash in 1978. William will always be best known for his unique contributions to the 70’s horror genre. This weeks’ PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a fearsome foursome of Girdler’s fabulous fright flicks! In honor of the late, great William Girdler – LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!
Brain Hammer’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT Vol.18: Givin’ the Devil his due!
This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a terrible trio of seventies horror flicks that all prominently feature Old Scratch himself – THE DEVIL! Any friend of the Devil is a friend of mine, and these diabolical delights are all personal favorites. Consider these all Brain Hammer tested, Satan approved.

Unlike a lot of people I won’t be talking shit about “Rob Zombie’s Halloween” because I haven’t seen it yet. It seems like a lot of horror fans have the knives out for this one so to speak. I’d rather talk some shit about the first eight Halloween flicks instead, and offer some insight as to why I think the franchise has no place to go but UP.

The late great Cameron Mitchell (1918 – 1994) was a veteran character actor, with well over 200 acting credits to his name! Cameron is beloved to horror fans for appearing in the 1964 Mario Bava classic giallo “Blood & Black Lace” and for starring in the controversial 1978 shocker “The Toolbox Murders.”
Over the years Cameron appeared in numerous cheaply produced “B” movies. This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are three of the very best of those efforts. In honor of Cameron Mitchell (RIP) - let the bloodshed begin!!!

These savage efforts all serve up heaping helpings of jungle carnage and an abundance of flesh ripping, gut munching, and animal cruelty. In honor of “the black ninja” Sho Kusugi - this week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are the three infamous 80’s action flicks that comprise “the ninja trilogy” - “Enter The Ninja,” “Revenge Of The Ninja,” and “Ninja III: The Domination!” These three ass kicking flicks all feature double digit body counts and an unbelievable assortment of violent and creative deaths via various deadly ninja weapons! “Don’t fuck with the Japanese. They can be very dangerous.” LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!

Best of all, all three of these classic flicks are now available on dvd and can be easily found at a reasonable price. Let the bloodshed begin!
The most underrated “Friday The 13th” sequel has to be “Part V: A New Beginning.” Everybody talks shit about the “fake Jason” movie and some even dismiss it as the worst of the series. (obviously they never saw Jason X) I consider “A New Beginning” to be the last truly great entry in the franchise, and the last to capture a superior slasher atmosphere.
