I will be traveling to Philly today and be back either Sunday or Monday. Since I’m planning on using this holiday as a mini vacation, I will not be updating the site. So I wanted to wish our readers, members and friends a happy Thanksgiving before I leave.
2012 will be our 5 year anniversary. I’m hoping Santa brings us a new site design and a few other surprises. Hopefully we can pull Horror Yearbook out of the grave next year.

A fun getaway turns into a journey to Hell for some unlucky teenage girls visiting an isolated house to rehearse and perform a play for their private movie club. Taking the trip with an adult chaperone, the girls learn that a previous club member supposedly went missing in the house, and another went insane! Shortly after they arrive, a mysterious videotape is found with footage of a violent killer wearing a Japanese ‘deigan’ mask. Is this footage faked—or real? Soon the girls’ food and equipment disappear, and one of the girls is hauned by ghostly visions of the masked demon. Someone–or something–is in the house, and gruesome death awaits those who cannot escape!

It’s amazing that we even have a “Lost Tape genre” since the gimmick should’ve only worked once, but the success of Paranormal Activity has given it a new life. Bloody Disgusting recently published the trailer for Upper, a movie reportedly based on “found footage” Quentin Tarantino purchased and refused to release. And Dimension Films is currently working on The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes, about a team of investigators who mistakingly try to take on the Amityville Horror house.

Shark Night 3D was a disappointment as a movie and at the box office ($34 million worldwide). Unfortunately it turned out just to be a boring PG-13 version of Piranha 3D. However, it did manage to deliver Sara Paxton in a bikini and a Katharine McPhee sideboob… So it wasn’t a total waste of time!
We normally don’t cover short films, especially short films premiering in London, but I couldn’t ignore scAIRcrows. Yep, a movie about flying scarecrows! Writer and director Chris Gallagher is holding a free screening with the cast and crew on December 5th, at the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley (http://www.phoenixcinema.co.uk). You can get your free tickets by e-mailing info [at] scaircrows [dot] com. Check out the trailer below, and visit the Facebook page for more info!

Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) from the Orphan is all grown up, and she’s fighting in The Hunger Games on March 23, 2012. Check out the new trailer below. If you haven’t read the books yet, you can get the Hunger Games Trilogy Boxed Set here.
I highly recommend them!
“Homecoming” is hands down the most thrilling and well written episode of the season. Looking back on, it’s mind blowing everything that happened. Characteristic of The Vampire Diaries’ best episodes, there are constant twists and everyone turning on each other, even those they are closest to. You never really know what’s going on, keeping you on the edge of your seat until everything builds up to the final conclusion. In the end, you understand why and their driving force is nothing short of ferocious. Everything is at stake. For many of our characters this could be the end of eternity.
In 2011, there have been very few horror films that have actually delivered the goods. In fact, over the last decade, it has seemed that the best films have been coming from across the pond, most notably from Spain, France, and jolly old England. The English has been exporting plenty of quality programs to American audiences over the last few years spanning from The Mighty Boosh, both versions of the Office and an American remake of Shameless on Showtime to miniseries/films such as Dead Set, Colin, and the new film Panic Button which has definitely lived up to the hype it has had before this review.
Ordinary People dives in to origins, those of werewolves, vampires, and hybrids. Elena, Alaric, and Damon find ancient drawings in the tomb that give them quite a bit of insight. There are still so many questions left unanswered though. They find out that the symbols represent the originals: Klaus, Elijah, Rebecca, and one previously unknown original, Michael, the vampire turned vampire hunter and father of the other originals. They know Michael is the key in all this and now he has been awakened. They need to know more though and Elena believes Rebecca is the key.

I don’t really have celebrity crushes. The only famous chick I ever masturbated to was the lead singer of the Divinyls when I was 15, and I’m not sure why. I don’t even think she’s attractive.
