The marketing for the After Dark Originals has been odd to say the least. Here’s the trailer for Seconds Apart, three days after its premiere in theaters.
Seth and Jonah are murderous twins who share an evil kinship. Damned from the moment of their births, the brothers possess a gruesome talent for telekinesis – a power they use in the most horrific ways imaginable. As their fellow students meet gory fates, the local law enforcement begin to suspect the twins’ connection to the depraved murders. What started as a jealous rage escalates into a supernatural showdown – pitting brother against brother, evil against evil.

I knew that The Rite was going to do well when my sister and mother kept saying “I want to see that new Hannibal movie” this weekend.” Anthony Hopkins’ exorcism film barely took the top spot this weekend with an estimated $15 million on approximately 3,200 screens at 2,985 locations. The highest-grossing opening ever for Hopkins in a top-billed, non-Hannibal-Lecter role.

AJ Bowen is tripping on acid. He tells me he’s coming down now.
But not really, he was just making a joke on twitter to scare off journalists …I think.
He’s gotten in trouble with his publicist before, social media has been a strange thing for him. It seems a lot of people don’t understand when to take a tweet seriously. He’s got a lot of followers, sure, lots are a result of the horror films he’s been acting in over the past few years; House of the Devil, The Signal, and most recently, Adam Green’s Hatchet II and the lesser known A Horrible Way To Die

Over the last twelve hours, Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes has been very active on Twitter. Especially regarding the two horror greats. He said he wants to “Set the record straight on Freddy and Jason”. He announed that a Friday the 13th sequel is not out of the question and that a script has already been written, stating “We are ready to go when New Line is ready.” He went on to say that “As far as Freddy…..there isn’t even talk of writing another script.” That news shocked me a little as a huge Nightmare fan. While I did enjoy the remake, I wasn’t 100% sold and was looking forward to a sequel to convince me otherwise. He said right now, they’re “working on a handful of films, including TMNT and Ouija“. Sounds like things will get worse before they get better.

Every generation needs their own psycho stalker or bat-shit-insane roommate film. I grew up with one of the best, Fatal Attraction, and when I was 15, I had a crush on Alicia Silverstone in The Crush. In the 1990s, Mark Wahlberg starred as Reese Witherspoon’s stalker in Fear, and 2009 saw Beyoncé kicking the husband stealing Ali Larter’s ass in Obsessed.
On February 4, Leighton Meester plays Minka Kelly’s creepy dorm room buddy in the PG-13, Single White Female wannabe, The Roommate. Check out the hot Meester/Kelly gallery below.

IMDb, as well as Leslie Vernon’s official Facebook page (yes, he has one) have announced the long-awaited sequel to 2006′s Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, currently titled B4TM. No news on what it stands for. I had originally thought “Before the Mask”, but the IMDb shows the cast including Angela Goethals and Ben Pace reprising their roles as Taylor and Doug, which makes a prequel somewhat unlikely in my opinion. Scott Glosserman returns as director and co-writer, with David J. Stieve writing the screenplay. Nathan Baesel will be returning as Vernon and genre fav Robert Englund will continue as Vernon’s “Ahab”, Doc Halloran.
Amber dreams of escaping her small town existence and persuades her friends to accompany her to find an apartment in the big city. When their transportation breaks down, she and her friends gratefully accept a ride in the back of a semi. But when the driver refuses to stop and they discover the cargo is hundreds of cartons of blood, they panic. Their panic turns to terror when the truck disgorges them into a dark, abandoned warehouse where blood-thirsty creatures learn to hunt human prey, which, the friends realize, is what they now are…

It’s no secret that After Dark Films likes to release bad movies, that’s why I assume most horror fans aren’t looking forward to their After Dark Originals. So why do they keep shifting release dates for movies no one wants to see?
Out of the eight films announced, only five are making it to theaters this weekend; 51 and Scream of the Banshee will be shown at a later date, as part of the the SyFy Channel’s Saturday Original Movie franchise, and Re-Kill has been pulled from its original January 28 premiere.

The Forbidden Game is a compelling supernatural book series by Vampire Diaries’ author, L.J. Smith.” I have to say it took me awhile to get in to The Hunter, the first novel in the series. The first 50 pages I was mostly disinterested, but wanted to give the book a chance. The biggest issue that held the beginning back were the characters. I didn’t dislike any of them, but most of them seemed kind of bland at first glance. I wasn’t sure if I really felt for them or could experience the story through their eyes the way I should. Once it got in to the game itself and the supernatural element kicked in, it became much more intriguing and exciting.
Cherilyn Wilson (The Roommate ) takes a bath in Deon Taylor’s 2010 horror flick, Chain Letter. Taylor is also the mastermind behind Flavor Flav’s Nite Tales.
