Who is Directing Paranormal Activity 2? Who Cares!

It is time to let Paranormal Activity join the Blair Witch in the land of the well-hyped but forgotten films, but of couse Paramount can’t resist the urge to cash-in on its success by releasing a sequel.

Meanwhile Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller is probably already in negotiations for the rights to the remake, and Bloody Disgusting has been paid off the declare it the “Best and Scariest Sequel of the Decade!” (Right after Brad Miska mails in his quote claiming that Elm Street is the best film of 2010 of course.)

But the biggest question on some people’s minds is who is going to direct this pile of shit, now that Kevin Greutert, has been sent back crying and screaming to direct Saw VII by Lionsgate’s lawyers.

The L.A. Times has a list of unfortunate candidates; Brian De Palma, Brad Anderson (Transsiberian), Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), and even Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman’s name has been tossed around.

I feel sorry for whoever gets stuck filming the sequel to this one-hit-wonder, and can’t wait until it just goes away like the Blair Witch and its ill-fated sequel Book of Shadows.

Puppet Master: Axis Of Evil Arrives in June

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer 2

Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street opens in theaters everywhere April 30, 2010, and below we have the second trailer for the film. You can catch this version on the big screen tomorrow (February 26, 2010) in front to The Crazies.

Freddy Krueger returns in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-shitting on the horror classic. A group of surburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another…but when they sleep, there is no escape.

The World Needs More Sophie Monk

Sophie Monk is hot, so hot she even looks good in these boring pictures for Cosmopolitan. She needs to be in more magazines and horror films!

You can catch Monk in upcoming lesbian vampire flick Murder World aka Pearblossom aka Life Blood being released by Lionsgate later this year. Or the comedy Hard Breakers with Wayne’s World’s Tia Carrere. Or just look at her pictures below… It’s really up to you!

Wes Craven Not Doing Scream 4… Yet!

Wes Craven recently shot down the L.A. Times rumor that he has agreed to direct Scream 4 on his Twitter feed. “[The] LA Times has it wrong. I’m still in talks but nothing has been finalized.”

When asked in a recent interview is he believes Craven will return to direct, Scream 4 screenwriter Kevin Williamson replied, “Oh, Wes is going to do it.”

Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Arquette are all attached to return for the fourth film.

Want More Chicken Dead? Zombeak!

What came first, Troma’s Poultrygeist or Smear Pictures’ Zombeak?

I have no idea, but if you can’t get enough of the new zombie sub-genre, the Chicken Dead, then today is your lucky day.

Zombeak (official website) is hatching on DVD in the UK on March, 1, 2010. (I’m not sure about a US release date yet.)

Robert Pattinson Comes Clean About Dating Stewart

According to The Sun Twilight star Robert Pattinson admitted that he is indeed dating co-star Kristen Stewart at Sunday’s BAFTAs.

“Brit actor Robert carried on with the secrecy at Sunday’s Bafta bash – then admitted they were a couple at the post-do dinner.”

“We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.”

New Elm Street Poster

Our writer Kyle Krueger sent over the new A Nightmare on Elm Street poster which made its debut on MySpace today (I didn’t know people still used MySpace!).

Elm Street hits theaters everywhere on April 30, 2010. And don’t forget to catch the new trailer in front of The Crazies on February 26.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Set Visit(s)

All the major horror websites, except Horror Yearbook, published their set reports for Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street remake today. I guess calling the producer a “pussy” doesn’t get you invited to the party… It doesn’t matter, we didn’t want to go anyway! Our Women of Elm Street Naked (link NSFW) is way better than any stupid set report.

Nightmareonelmstreetmovie.com posted a list of links if you’re interested in reading any of the babble.

In other Elm Street news a new trailer for the film will be shown in front of The Crazies remake in theaters on February 26.

Robert Pattinson’s New BAFTA Hair

It has been a looong time since I’ve updated our Twilight blog, and I figured that posting a picture of Robert Pattinson’s new greasy hairdo at the BAFTAs in London last night, is a great way to get it rolling again. Their was an uproar from fans and the studio the last time Pattinson cut his hair… So I wonder what the reaction will be like this time!

Let us know your thoughts on Pattinson’s new look below… And remember before you freak out, hair gel washes out.

Movie Review: Shutter Island (2010)

Shutter Island is the best movie of 2010.

I realize that with competition like When in Rome, Valentine’s Day, Dear John, Book of Eli and Extraordinary Measures, that’s like being the least effeminate boy band member. But if Island were released in 2009 like it was supposed to be, there’s no doubt it would fill one of the 10 Best Picture Slots, taking the place of something idiotic like The Blind Side. As it stands, come next fall as Awards season rolls around, it’s almost a surety that Shutter Island will be forgotten. Too bad.

2009 Bram Stoker Award Nominees

Each year, the Horror Writers Association presents the Bram Stoker Awards for Superior Achievement in the field of horror writing, named in honor of Bram Stoker, author of the seminal horror work Dracula. Since 1987, the approximately 500 members of the HWA have recommended, nominated and voted on the greatest works of horror and dark fantasy of the previous calendar year, making the Stokers the most prestigious award in the field of horror literature.

The Last Battleground Arrives on DVD

Paper Mache extraordinaire and “no budget” filmmaker Sonny Fernandez’s latest film, The Last Battleground, is now available for sale at Amazon, as a 2 Disc Special Edition DVD.

The Last Battleground takes place on the night that heaven and hell has had their final battle, and HELL has won. Now a motley crew of nobodies must band together to fight against all manner of Lovecraftian demons as they rise from the depths of hell to consume and possess everyone on the planet!

Daddy’s Girl Trailer

Daddy’s Girl… Great name… Meh trailer! Actress Zoe Sloane looks like Alicia Silverstone from The Crush, and that is nothing to get excited about. If you’re going to make a teen-goes-killer flick you need a more lolita-type lead. Don’t Deliver Us From Evil still upsets people to this day. Daddy’s Girl looks like another indy film that doesn’t push the envelope.

The only highlight is that John Wesley Shipp (The Flash from the original 90s TV show ) plays Sloane’s father. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
