Here is a very exciting rumor from the down under. Due to the success of the Twilight film, Joss Whedon may finally get his chance to make another Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
From the Herald-Sun Newspaper in Australia:
The monster success of girly vampire pic Twilight at the US Box office last weekend could kick open the door for a big-screen return of Joss Whedon’s much-loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rumours are circulating in Hollywood that Whedon has a feature-film script based on his hit TV series ready to roll as soon as a studio is prepared to commit. The Buffy concept was first unveiled as a movie in 1992 with long-forgotten Kristy Swanson in the title role.

Last night I rented Flu Birds and even though I passed out drunk in the first ten minutes, what I saw was pure bliss. Flu Birds is another great-looking, under the radar horror film from First Look Studios, the company that also brought us Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django and the upcoming Stephen Baldwin film, Sharks in Venice. Flu Birds is already available of DVD but you will have to wait until January 27th for Sharks.

While not as exciting as the Vanessa Hudgens’ nude scandal (DO NOT click that link if you’re under 18 or at work), TMZ published these pictures of Twilight star, Kristen Stewart puffing on some weed in L.A.. What kind of message does this send to all her new 16-year-old fans? It says that doing drugs, unprotected anal sex and bulimia are cool. Shame on you Stewart!

You should all know the Midnight Meat Train story by now… It was dumped in to dollar theaters by Lionsgate… Fans had a hard time seeing it… Clive Barker got pissed, and Blah, blah, blah. It’s time to get over it, move on and buy or Netflix the DVD on February 17th, 2009.

Even though it has been tempting to cash in on the Star Trek hype, it is a little too much Sci-Fi and I’m not a big enough fan to do so, however, I just found the perfect excuse to do it. It seems J.J. Abrams has a thing for giant monsters, and the Starfleet will be battling one themselves. Below you can see three pictures of what it looks like, and see if there is any resemblance to his Cloverfield monster.

I was renting some videos from that Redbox thing at my local grocery store, and to my pleasant surprise it was filled with Ghost House and Asylum Entertainment movies. After I rented Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 I decided to stick with sequels and rented War of the Worlds 2. However, WofW2 is not an actual sequel of the Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning mess, it’s an Asylum film. Then I noticed the Coming Soon section and Death Racers was listed even though it was released two months ago, WTF!
