Welcome to the Jungle a new “cannibal” film from Dimension Extreme will be released as an unrated DVD on November 13.
“Two young couples set out to explore the jungles of New Guinea in search of Michael Rockefeller, heir to the Rockefeller fortune who disappeared there over 40 years ago. To their horror, their hunt for a big payday turns them into the hunted as the native cannibals follow their every move and unfathomable bloodshed waits at the gory end.”
Welcome to the Jungle is being described as a “Blair Witch style” film, and a “fresh and autonomous mix” of cult film favorite Cannibal Holocaust and the legend of Michael Rockefeller’s mysterious 1961 disappearance in New Guinea supposedly at the hands of cannibals.
It is written and directed by the man who brought us The Punisher (2004, not the Dolph Lundgren one).

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Artfire and Romero-Grunwald Productions are ready to make a Diary of the Dead sequel. Part 2 will pick up right where the first films ended. The survivors have to fight their way through zombies to make their way to an remote island. Which we all know from the Dawn remake and The Zombie Survival guide, may not be such a safe place anyway.

This week’s PICKS FROM THE CRYPT are a terrible trio of 80’s slasher flicks that are often overlooked or criminally underrated by fans and critics. I consider these flicks to be lost classics from the golden era of slashers. Sadly, as of yet there have been no proper dvd releases for these relatively obscure horror favorites, but I’d guess it’s only a matter of time. These are superior slashers that deliver the ample amounts of boobs and blood that deviants desire. LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!!!

We all knew that Saw IV (Read Our Review Here) would be a hit, and we were not wrong. Saw pulled in $14.3 million on Friday, taking the number one spot over the Steve Carell comedy Dan in Real Life, which took the No. 2 spot with $4.1 million.
Although at the end of yesterday’s film, one kid shouted out there better not be a Saw V. I did not have the heart to tell him that five and six are already in the pipeline.

If Hollywood can’t remake a movie they seem to have only two options, make a prequel or make it a musical, than make the musical a movie. Seems they decided prequel was the way to go with Underworld, which is getting ready to start shooting in New Zealand.
Mixing reality television shows with movies can often be problematic. It often adds an automatic cheesiness to the film. It is a fairly known thing that reality shows are far from reality. So having this a focus of a film makes it seem fake. One movie that actually raised on this challenge was American Dreamz. It was a satire on reality shows like American Idol and did an excellent job of comparing this to the political system in a metaphorical. However, many films that attempt this end up suffering because of it as in the cases of Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (Read Review), The Condemned (Read Review), and now Naked Beneath the Water.
