Jonathan Maberry, author of the bestselling Ghost Road Blues (Pinnacle Books) just landed a new book deal for ZOMBIE CSI: The Forensic Science of the Living Dead -a tongue-in-cheek pop culture book that takes the methods of crime scene investigation and forensics and applies it to the supernatural. He’ll be interviewing pathologists, physicians, physicists, physiologists, chemists, psychologists, crime scene investigators, detectives, SWAT team members, as well as entertainment industry folks (writers, artists, directors, actors). It’s scheduled for a 2008 release from Citadel Press. This is going to be a total blast to research and write.
This sounds fun, but 2008 is so far away. Well that will give us 1 year to keep you updated with plenty of news on the book. Until then check out Jonathan’s other books ‘Ghost Road Blues’ & ‘Vampire Universe’ at Jonathanmaberry.com

I tried so hard not to let HorrorYearbook.com become this, but it’s a losing battle. I think websites like Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central are boring. If somebody took a picture of paint drying on the set of a new horror movie they will post it.

We’re not posting this because we are getting paid, but because after I took an unintentional dig at the makers of ‘Barricade’ once, while posting their trailer, (Which you can view HERE) we had a lengthy discussion about supporting small films. I also told them one day I would apologize on the site for what [...]

‘Preacher’ tells the story of Jesse Custer, a down-and-out preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer was accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named ‘Genesis’ in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church.

Generally, I do not like vampire films because they seem to copy one another and are rarely ever scary. And while this one wasn’t scary by any means, it was at least interesting by putting a new spin on an old subgenre

CREATURE FROM THE HILLBILLY LAGOON
It was entertaining, particularly because Jason Todd Ipson, the film’s director, keeps making the very hot Scot Davis run around without his shirt on. (Thanks for the shower scene too!) It was worth the money and effort I spent to see it.
There’s a part where he stalks a girl in her sleep. She later turns out to be the sister of his dead girlfriend. A clock chimes. A baby doll face floats by the screen. There is a close up of a piece of wood

No matter how you feel about the movie ‘Dark Ride,’ there still is no debate over the fact that Jonah, the crazy carnie, is one of the coolest slashers to come along in quite some time. With this in mind, we knew we had to be one of the first people to interview the man behind the mask before he joins the ranks of Freddy or Jason.
The glossy covers usually feature cult icons and Hammer horror monsters. The pages inside have a similar feel to a newspaper. At first glance this may dissuade you from buying it, but you would be missing out on the wide variety of reviews it features.

Why all the hubbub about the new movie ‘Hatchet’? I don’t know because we have not been contacted by them, and I have not seen it. But don’t worry, your pals at Horror Yearbook went out and got all the information you need to know. ‘Hatchet’ is director Adam Green’s 80’s type, slasher film which [...]
