I had heard a long time ago that Don Mancini wanted to remake “Prom Night,” and that had me very excited. Because “Prom Night” is actually a classic that could use a remake, and possibly could be done better. I thought Mancini would be a good choice but I have not heard his name mentioned in a long time, and who knows maybe I made the whole damn thing up.
So what is going on with the remake? Twitch Films has just found out that Jorge Olguín has been offered the chance to direct the Screem Gems remake along with NALA Films “Open Grave.” Jorge is also signed on to direct the video game adaption “Clock Tower” which shooting for was pushed back until the middle of this year. His other movie “The Call of the Sea” (Caleuche: el llamado del mar) is also schedule to start shooting in April.
Wow, that’s a lot from the guy who directed that crappy “Eternal Blood” movie. We’ll have to see if he is just too busy to remake “Prom Night,” and of course we will keep you posted here.
