Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson, who revealed his homosexuality earlier this morning, was found dead after an apparent suicide. TMZ broke the news.
“He was obviously in a lot of pain,” co-star Kristen Stewart said.
According to police, the 24-year-old actor appeared to have hanged himself.
“I can confirm that we found his body, naked, hanging in the closet,” said officer Terry Gilson.
Police said Pattinson’s body was taken to a hospital for an autopsy which would be carried out sometime next week.
Robert Pattinson, played the popular vampire “Edward” in the Twilight Saga films. The third movie, Eclipse, is still being planned for a June 30, 2010 release. No word from Summit Entertainment about the future of the franchise.
