“Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors” comes to the San Jose January 5-7 with an exciting line-up of top horror talent from both film and television. This fright-filled weekend will take place at the Doubletree Hotel San Jose, 2050 Gateway Place, San Jose.

Celebrity guests and events set for Fango’s blast include: cult horror director George A. Romero, of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD, CREEPSHOW, and MARTIN fame, previewing his new zombie film, DIARY OF THE DEAD; horror acting great Jeffrey Combs, from RE-ANIMATOR, (Read Our Current RE-ANIMATOR News Here) FROM BEYOND, STAR TREK, THE FRIGHTENERS and more; HELLRAISER’S Pinhead, Doug Bradley, also seen in NIGHTBREED, PUMPKINHEAD 3 and KILLER TONGUE; actor Sid Haig, star of THE DEVIL’S REJECTS, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, SPIDER BABY and new BROTHERHOOD OF BLOOD; and Robert Picardo, familiar genre actor from THE HOWLING, LEGEND, GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH, INNERSPACE, MASTERS OF HORROR: HOMECOMING and STAR TREK: VOYAGER’s doctor.

Several star-packed presentations scheduled for the weekend include: the 2001 MANIACS reunion with stars Christa Campbell, Wendy Kremer, Ryan Fleming, Adam Robitel and director Tim Sullivan, (Horror Yearbook’s Class of 2006) who will unveil the new MANIACS figurines and give us the scoop on the movie sequel, 2002 MANIACS: BEVERLY HELLBILLIES; the DRIFTWOOD Panel, with co-writer/director Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs), stars Diamond Dallas Page (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS) and Connor Ross (SURFACE); THE HAMILTONS Panel, new indie sleeper will be previewed with directors The Butcher Brothers and co-writer Adam Weis, as well as the Hamiltons themselves, actors Cory Knauf, Joseph McKelheer, Samuel Child and Mackenzie Firgens.

Ed Martinez the FX artist/teacher behind DEAD PIT (Read Our Review), AMITVILLE: A NEW GENERATION will preview the new THE DAMNED and DEATH ROW.

More of the fright field’s favorite faces will also appear at the Fango Convention: Bill Moseley, vile villain of THE DEVIL’S REJECTS, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 and new THR3E and HOUSE; Ken Foree, tough guy actor from DAWN OF THE DEAD, FROM BEYOND, LEATHERFACE: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE III and THE DEVIL’S REJECTS; cult actor Joe Estevez, from THE ROCKVILLE SLAYER, SOULTAKER, WEREWOLF, and the new DEATH ROW; and Debbie Rochon, FANGORIA RADIO and TV hostess and star of such cult flicks as AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, TROMEO & JULIET, NOWHERE MAN and many more

Voltaire, Goth guru and author (WHAT IS GOTH? and PAINT IT GOTH), will perform a musical set (on Friday) and screen his FANGORIA TV animation shorts (on Saturday). The Quiroz brothers, Bay area directors of DEATH ROW, HOOD OF THE LIVING DEAD, SAN FRANPSYCHO and THE DAMNED, will be on hand to preview their latest, DEATH ROW.

The convention will also host a costume contest, trivia contests and a giant dealers’ marketplace. Also, there will be FANGORIA TV screenings planned.

A jam-packed indie-horror movie festival will unspool and fans can catch advance previews of such films as GRINDHOUSE, HOSTEL: PART II, THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2, 28 WEEKS LATER, GHOST RIDER, WRONG TURN 2, HATCHET, THE MESSENGERS, BEHIND THE MASK, BLOOD & CHOCOLATE, THE INVISIBLE, ROGUE, SKINWALKERS, THE HITCHER, WIND CHILL, PRIMEVAL, PREMONITION, 1408 and many more!

General admission tickets are available in advance or at the door for $15 on Friday, $20 on Saturday and Sunday. Advance tickets are available through www.creationent.com.
