The Librarian of Congress on Wednesday announced his list of 25 films to be preserved this year to the National Film Registry . What an interesting list; horror fans should be excited as John Carpenter’s “Halloween” (1978) was litsed among other films like “Rocky” (1976, what took them so long), “Sex, Lies and Videotape” (1989), “Groundhog Day” (1993)…..! Did that just say “Groundhog Day,” with Bill Murray? Does that really need to be preserved forever? And of course “Blazing Saddles.” You can get the full list HERE
You can read all about the National Film Registry, and the rest of the films selected, plus why they chose “Halloween” over at the Hollywoodreporter.com.
