I have read Dead Sea, Ghoul, and The Conqueror Worms all written by Brian Keene, but I have not read Dark Hollow, the one book from the author that is being made into a movie! So unfortunately I can’t tell you poop about it besides what they sent me in a press release. Even though I’m not an avid fan of Keene I have enjoyed his books, so I’m excited to see what this film has to offer. Especially after reading the synopsis below.
Below is a selection of concept art for the film that was published on Keene’s official website. Dark Hollow is being directed by Paul Campion and is aiming for a 2010 spring/early summer shoot.
“After two miscarriages, writer Adam Shays marriage is on the rocks. On a walk through local woods rumored to be haunted, Adam come across a strange sight: a statue of a half-man, half-goat creature, a satyr from ancient legends, that comes to life before his eyes.
Soon, all the women in town begin disappearing, summoned to the woods by the satyrs hypnotic piping. When Adam gathers the menfolk to hunt down the satyr and save the women, what they uncover is an unholy evil bent on protecting itself and spreading its seed…”

I have high hopes for this movie its a great original book and about time we get an original Movie one that has not been made over and over and over again!
I am thrilled this novel will be adapted to film!
Great piece of horror, hope they don’t screw it up. Has potential to be a big hit. It’s now April 2011 though, so maybe it’s plug got pulled.
