Is Elm Street in Trouble?

NightmareonElmStreetMovie.com has discovered (via SpoilerTV) a new casting call for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010, suggesting that Platinum Dunes is planning on shooting some additional scenes.

But why?

Re-shoots can be a sign of many things, like the studio wasn’t happy with what they saw, or that the director just thought the movie needed more. It can also mean Platinum Dunes is bending to test marketing or fan feedback, which is not necessarily a good thing, especially since test marketing is the number one killer of creativity in Hollywood. Whatever the reason for the re-shoots, I’m willing to bet that it can’t be a good thing with super hack Brad Fuller at the helm. I also find it very strange that the director of the film, Samuel Bayer, has been so quiet up to this point. Do you think things are going bad on Elm Street or is it just buisness as usual?

Star Wars went back to do reshoots all the way until it’s release; it kept calling the actors back time and time again. Now we all know this will be no Star Wars but I wouldn’t say their in trouble.
