Carriers was originally scheduled to play in theaters last September when it was dropped because Paramount Vantage closed its doors. Now Shock Till You Drop has learned that it is coming to DVD on December 8… But only for rental! Huh!?!
Paramount Home Entertainment told the website it will be available for sale “four to six weeks” after its initial street date. The trailer for Carriers looked promising and even Stephen King gave it a nod in Entertainment Weekly, so it is a shame that fans will have to wait over a year to see it and even longer to buy it.
Carriers follows four friends who set out in search of an uncontaminated refuge during a viral epidemic. As they travel across the decimated landscape of America, they encounter a truth far more horrifying than the virus they are trying to survive.

It actually did get a theatrical release, but not a very big one. I saw it and reviewed it. It’s pretty awesome. The marketing was all wrong. It wasn’t a horror film at all. No zombies or anything like that. And that’s why I loved it so much. Cause it felt more like a desperate thriller like THE TRIGGER EFFECT, than a straight horror film. Don’t miss this one! In fact, a quote from my review is on the actual website.
