The American remake of the Swedish film, Let the Right One In, called me Let Me In has began with principle photography in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Writer/director Matt Reeves’s (Cloverfield) adaptation will have child stars Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road) and Chloe Moretz (The Eye) playing two main characters in the recently revived Hammer Films production. The film is set to wrap in January.
In the haunting and provocative LET ME IN, an alienated 12-year-old boy (Smit-McPhee) befriends a mysterious young newcomer (Moretz) in his small New Mexico town and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood. The film is based on the bestselling vampire novel, Lat den Ratte Komma In, by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist, and is an English-language remake of the highly acclaimed Swedish film of the same name.
CEO president of Hammer Films Simon Oaks notes that Matt Reeves is taking this story personal and he continues with, “The brilliance of that story deserves to be seen by audiences on a wide scale and we are excited that the pieces are in place to make that a reality” The rest of the cast includes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’s Elias Koteas, Cara Buono, Sasha Barrese, and Richard Jenkins as Abby’s guardian.

Why do we feel the need to “amercianize” every awesome foreign film? Just let it stand as the work of art that it is. I am sure this will be a “douche-nozzle” by the time that they finish with it!!
