Is this the year that the Saw franchise finally meets its match? STYD reported that “Friday’s box office estimates have Paranormal Activity ahead of Saw VI by $7.5 million to $7 million for the day.”

While it doesn’t seem like that large of a margin Shock estimates that the ending tally will be Paranormal Activity with $21 to 23 million for the weekend, leaving Saw VI with roughly $15 to 16 million. We will be keeping a close eye on this box office battle, so check back with HYB for more updates.

As for Saw VI reviews (HYB’s will be posted tomorrow) Trailer Addicts’ “condensed criticism” has it at an overall “C” rating, Horror-Movies.ca has it at a 73% approval rating and Rotten Tomatoes has it at 43% approval rating.
