Near Dark or Twilight?

The only word I can come up with to describe the Near Dark Blu-ray art is “lol!” Check out how they tried to cash in on the Twilight craze below.

Near Dark releases on Blu-ray November 10, 2009. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker) Near Dark is NOT a Twilight type vampire flick! Caleb (Adrian Pasdar), a young man from a small farm town, meets a drifter named Mae (Jenny Wright). When she turns him into a vampire rather than kill him, the rest of her “family” is slow to accept him. The ancient leader, Jesse (Lance Henriksen), and his psychotic henchman Severen (Bill Paxton) lay down the law; Caleb has to carry his own weight or die.

Not cool! Don’t mix that Twilight-snorefest with Near Dark’s awesomeness! Okay I understand they’re trying to make the cash by whoring themselves out, Twilight-style. It’s smart marketing. It’ll probably get Near Dark the exposure it deserves. But the original movie poster is the best: http://www.moviegoods.com/Assets/product_images/1020/232418.1020.A.jpg

    Lance Henricksen rocks!
