Brody Becomes the Lead Hunt!

Nimrod Antal and Robert Rodriguez’s Predators is getting an interesting yet neat mix of casting. More casting news has been revealed today as Adrien Brody has hopped on for the male lead! That is right, Adrien Brody – the guy with the big nose! Alice Broga, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Oleg Taktarov have also been added. Do you remember what I said a few days about about the lead character being some kind of serial killer? Well, I called it. Brody is an accountant-type who is an infamous serial killer by night.

Here is an interesting rumor within the negotiations of another big name. Topher Grace may partake in the film. That 70′s Show and Spider Man 3 star is in talks to play one of the most feared killers to be abducted. Predators leaps from Earth to the Predators’ home world where numerous experience killers of Earth are dropped for the ultimate hunt.

30 Days of Night 2 Coming…

Ghost House Pictures producer Robert Tapert talked with shocktillyoudrop.com about various upcoming projects. One project of notable concern was Dark Days, the sequel to 30 Days of Night which involved vampires in an arctic tundra.

Tapert, better known for his involvement with the Evil Dead series, had this to say, “Ben Ketai is up in Vancouver now getting ready to shoot. I think principal photography is coming along in two weeks. It’s a really good script.” Looks like it is right around the corner. Expect more updates soon!

Is REC the New Saw?

With a very successful Spain opener for REC 2, there seems to be some hint hype about another sequel. A new website has launched REC3LAPELICULA.COM which as soon written in Spanish. Pretty obvious another entry is coming now, isn’t it?

Creators and directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza will not be majorly involved like they have been with the previous films. However, they will be involved in some way, shape or form. So, the question comes to mind, is this going to be the new Saw? Are we going to see and hear about a gazillion REC films in the near future?

Bait 3D

I’m a sucker when it comes to killer shark movies. I love sharks in general so when I saw that there was a poster for Highlander and Resident Evil: Extinction director Russell Mulachy’s Bait, I had to write about it. And, of course, it is in 3D!

The premise behind this flick is “in a sleepy coastal resort community, shoppers at an underground supermarket find themselves terrorized by a crazed bandit when the unimaginable occurs. A monstrous freak tsunami swallows the town. Now trapped inside a flooded supermarket with an armed maniac and rushing water threatening to entomb them all in a watery grave, the imprisoned band of survivors discover they’re not alone. The tsunami has brought some unwanted visitors from the depths. As the waters rise they must overcome not only the threat of drowning, but another threat, just as deadly and far more bloodthirsty…packs of hungry tiger sharks.” A definite eye catcher and I can’t wait for a trailer!
