While I was busy drafting my Fantasy Football team and attending the Britney Spears concert in Philadelphia this weekend, it was announced that the Weinstein Company plans to release Halloween 3D in 2010. Halloween 2 was recently beaten by Inglourious Basterds and The Final Destination at the box, only earning an estimated $16.3 million. A big drop from Zombie’s first Halloween, which earned $26.4 million during its opening weekend in 2007.
3D horror movies have performed well in 2009 and the Weinstein Co. plans to cash in on the trend… even without Rob Zombie who will not be returning to direct. Although there has been no official director announced, the rumor mill has already suggested that Halloween H20 director, Steve Miner, may land the job. We will keep you updated.

Ugh…Just when a 3D Halloween movie couldn’t sound worse, they attach the name Steve Miner, and H20 to it… ugh… I have no hope left for the things I loved as a kid. Transformers 2 was crap and H2 was just as bad… so sad.
Steve Miner is just an early rumor… So don’t get to upset over it.
I’m interested in finally finding out the direction this thing is going. I like what Zombie did last time, but hey, unique views in the future film may not be all that bad.
Steve Miner did House, Friday 13th 2 and Soul Man tho. So the man is good when he’s allowed to be.
No Names at the moment so let’s think who would be good as a director for HALLOWEEN 3D.
JOHN CARPENTER- Doesn’t he direct anymore?
TOBE HOOPER- Doesn’t he need the work?
STUART GORDON- Save this man from “Direct to DVD Hell”!
VERANE FREDIANI and FRANCK RIBERE- Directors of the awesome “Inside”
WILLIAM MALONE- Director of the superior “House on Haunted Hill” remake
There’s more…but NOT Steve Miner!
