New Elm Street Set Report!

Things have been pretty quiet on Elm Street for the last month or so. Perhaps the “producers” of Platinum Dunes needed a break from all the hostility being directed their way, or just decided not to over-hype their Nightmare on Elm Street remake before it hits theaters on April 30 2010.

Whatever it is it didn’t stop Fangoria from publishing part one of their exclusive set visit. Of course it doesn’t really reveal anything new or interesting, but for those of you who are suffering from Elm Street withdrawal, it should be enough for you to chew on for at least a few days. You can read Fangoria’s report here, or save yourself some time and just read the good part below.

“In the scene Fango witnesses, Quentin tries desperately to stay awake and discovers Freddy in the bookstore. There, he sits with a group of youngsters who don’t seem terribly disturbed at having Freddy reading them a bedtime story. Haley’s costume and makeup are similar enough to resemble the original Freddy, but with a few differences that reflect the darker tone of the new movie—surely enough to scare the kids. But when the director shouts ‘Cut!’ the reason for their lack of fear becomes obvious. Haley switches off the Freddy and turns on the charm for the child actors. He shows them the glove, gives them high fives, lets them touch the makeup. In no time at all, the children are giggling.”

Yeah I know! The report is about as exciting as watching a Platinum Dunes’ remake. Hopefully part two will be better.
