Are the Twilight books just trashy romance novels?
Well… the cover of the movie tie-in edition of New Moon, sure makes it look like it. The Fabio inspired art featuring Taylor Lautner holding Kristen Stewart‎ (and who is that lurking in the moon?) is a huge change from the original cryptic covers of chess pieces or apples.
I guess the publishing company is using this opportunity to add a few more fans to the Twilight fan club, and I have to admit the new cover does grab your attention. Especially if you like cheesy teen romance stories.
So what do Twilight fans think of the new look? Does it make the book look trashy? Let us know in the comments section below.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be in theaters everywhere November 20, 2009.

I LOVE IT! I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS IN ANY WAY TRASHY. I LOVE ALL THE THE BOOKS IN THE TWILIGHT SERIES. I BELIEVE THIS COVER FITS THE BOOK PERFECTLY!
Wow how does it not look trashy? is my question. They are trying WAY too hard. It just looks cheap now. When I first read the twilight saga books (BEFORE the movies came out) I reall felt a mystifying feel to them, a type of elegance. But ever since this movie buisness started the books have just been degraded further and further down. The managing and advertisement team is trying to get way too much milk out of this cow
love it. i don’t think it is trashy at all its one of the best book covers i have seen when the bok was turned into a movie.
is it me or does edward not look like edward? … i dont know why but the edward we see in the moon doesnt look right for some reason?
Don’t know if it looks trashy? probably will intrigue more NEW readers/fans if your not one already.
extremely trashy. i liked the books because i felt for once someone was writing a romance novel that wasn’t trashy, something deeper than what this advertisement portrays. it’s really sad how hollywood has to take something different and beautiful and totally steal it’s originality by making it as trashy as everything else you see in mainstream media today. really disappointing, honestly.
isnt edward supposed to be like perfection in light of his unfortunate immortality as a vampire? meyer makes him out to be this moral, sensitive, incredibly down to earth, and overall perfect being in light of what he is… but the picture of him in this advertisement is disgusting. what the heck? totally not showing what stephenie had in mind.
I think the cover looks great. It brings the main characters to light that being Bella Jacob and the wolves. It may take a more “liberal” side to the story then what happens in the big but it does grab your attention. However it may mislead new readers sense Bella doesn’t fall for Jacob but it is a cool pic.
I don’t feel that it si in any way trashy.I BELIEVE THIS COVER FITS THE BOOK PERFECTLY!
Even Stephenie Meyer said that the Flower doesn’t mean nothing.
I think the cover looks great. It brings the main characters to light that being Bella Jacob and the wolves and Edward. Maybe I think like that because I’m a TWILIGHT FANS not Edward or Jacob.
