Gory greetings! Check out this weeks Brain Hammer approved horror dvd releases, both of which hit stores Tuesday 06/23/09!

HOBGOBLINS (special edition): Micro Werks

A whiny half-wit coward takes a job as a film vault security guard so he can impress his horrible frigid non-supportive girlfriend. He meets his mentor, who teaches him how to truly love a woman; from across the street, through a telescope. Then the big dummy accidentally unleashes the HOBGOBLINS – a gaggle of cheap looking puppet monsters that possess the magical power to tap into people’s fantasies and wreck havoc. Look out for that guy who ass-raped Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction, and for an incredible rake fighting scene where a garden hose out-acts the actors.

SIMON SAYS (special edition): Lionsgate

Five college friends choose to spend their vacation debauching at the riverside. They find the perfect place to camp out, but end up crossing paths with twin brothers Simon and Stanley, who then begin to knock off the campers in some extremely creative (and extremely gruesome) ways. Simon enjoys dressing up as a bush so he can sneak up on his victims. Stanley has a fetish for pickaxes and has designed a nifty catapult that can launch several of them into the air at the same time. A dream getaway in the great outdoors turns into a nightmare punctuated with gruesome impalements, hangings, dismemberment, and immolation. Not even cute little puppies are safe!
