Various sources are reporting that New Moon star Robert Pattinson — who remains uninjured — was struck by a taxi cab in New York on Thursday while trying to escape a “mob of frenzied fans.”

Pattinson — who is in Manhattan to shoot his new film Remember Me — was hit while fleeing across the street, but luckily the cab driver spotted him in time and hit his brakes lessening the impact.

A source on the set of the film told People that crowds of fans have been flocking to the set to try and catch a glimpse of the Twilight star.

It’s been nonstop busy all day with people trying to get a glimpse of him, and the crowd goes nuts when they do see him.

Besides having to deal with the mental stress of crazy, hormone raging fans Pattinson is fine.

The film he is tring to shoot, Remember Me is set for a Feb 10, 2010 release. It follows two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies. Below are several pictures of Pattinson working with his co-star Emilie de Ravin.
