If you are a regular reader of Horror Yearbook then you should know I love my Romantic Teen Comedies just as much as I love my Horror movies, it is why I thought I may actually enjoy the Twilight movie — unfortunately I didn’t.
So I was excited when the CW announced that The Vampire Diaries would be joining Supernatural on Thursday nights. I know it will never be close to as great as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I’m still happy to have a new teen vampire drama on TV. Especially since I do not have HBO and have to wait for True Blood to be released DVD.
The Vampire Diaries TV show is based on books written by L.J. Smith (Review) and is an obvious attempt by the network to try an cash-in on the Twilight craze, even though Diaries came first. For those of you interested you can check out the “extended preview” for the show below.
My biggest issue is it seems like they are making Elena more like Bella than Elena. There’s a lot of other changes but none that I think would really get in the way of the overall quality of the show aside from that. Let’s just hope it turns out awesome!
