According to Bloody Disgusting 20th Century Fox is not only planning on rebooting their Predator franchise but now has Alien lined up for the remake chopping block.

“Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott and even Tony Scott are all on board to produce [the Alien reboot] and have tapped Carl Rinsch to get beyond the camera and bring a new Ripley to the big screen. Who is Carl Rinsch? I’m being told he’s a commercial/music video director and does work for Scott Free Productions, who is also producing the remake.”

I’m honestly so numb to remakes at this point I could care less, however, the best part of BD’s EXCLUSIVE! rumor is that Mr. Disgusting claims he is disgusted by the news. This is the same person who allows Platinum Dunes to have a Blog on his website dedicated to promoting their remakes of actual classic horror films.

Mr. D claims “I know I defend (some) remakes, but there are those occasions that cause me to vomit a little in my mouth and then brush my teeth for hours trying to get the taste out. I just got back from spending an hour in the bathroom and no matter how hard I brushed, how much toothpaste I used, or how much mouthwash I swished, the taste just wouldn’t go away.”

Funny that is the same reaction I have every time he defends remakes like Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw and A Nightmare on Elm Street. So is Bloody Disgusting finally going to pull their heads out of the studio’s asses and boycott an Alien remake? I doubt it! We all know it only takes one set visit for Mr. Disgusting to declare any remake a masterpiece. As soon as that exclusive news and advertising comes in, he will most likely change his tune. BD should stick to reporting on news and leave the opinions to the real horror fans.
