Here is a very special casting call from Joan Philo Casting in Chicago for the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake. They’re looking for “attractive women, 18 to 27, who are comfortable working topless in a tasteful pool party scene.” They call this a “special extra” non-speaking role and need the extra bodies for filming on June 1st, 2nd , and 3rd. I don’t know why Platinum Dunes is even bothering with the nudity. Unlike Friday the 13th — A Nightmare on Elm Street can –and did — work without nudity, and we all know that the last time they test marketed one of their films, the nudity didn’t go over well with boys under the age of 25.

Why didn’t the nudity do well? Because most boys ages 16 to 25 have seen so much porn on the internet, nudity in films just isn’t exciting anymore. The nudity in the Friday remake was necessary, because a Jason movie without it, would be like a Jason movie without him wearing his mask. When you think of the Elm Street franchise, you really don’t think “nudity” like you do with the Friday the 13th franchise, so while it is of course welcomed, it is not necessary for the remake. Just more possible proof that Platinum Dunes can’t get anything right.
