The newest trend in horror movie releasing is VOD (Video on Demand) or premiering on the Sci-Fi channel before heading to to DVD, and next up for a Sci-Fi debut is Simon Hunter’s Mutant Chronicles. The film will air on the network June 27th and June 28 (check local listings for times), before its DVD release on August 4th.

Mutant Chronicles takes place in the year 2707 where war rages between Earth’s four giant Corporations as they battle over the planet’s dwindling resources. During combat, an ancient seal shatters, releasing a horrific mutant army from its eternal prison deep within the Earth.

The Movie stars Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, Anna Walton, Devon Aok, and John Malkovich.

Also premiering on Sci-Fi is Rise of the Gargoyles on June 21. For the entire June lineup check the schedule here.
