Shocktillyoudrop announced that David Cassidy’s daughter, Katie Cassidy, is the newest cast member to join A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010. Cassidy will play “Kris” in Samuel Bayer’s remake of Wes Craven’s original 1984 film.

You can currently check out Cassidy on the television show Harper’s Island and the upcoming Melrose Place 2.0. This will also mark the actresses second remake appearance, her first being 2006’s retooling of Bob Clark’s Black Christmas

Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street begins shooting this month with a planned April 16, 2010 release date.
