I’m kind of over the white trash looking bum Michael Myers. I was trying not to be influenced by all the pictures (I even skipped watching the trailer), but I just can’t help the fact that I’m starting to dislike the look. It has nothing to do with old Myers vs new Myers, just a personal preference I guess. When I saw the latest pictures it immediately made me think of the wrestler Mankind (another white trash hero that I never cared for), but I’m not sure why, they really don’t look a lot alike. I can’t put my finger on it but I’m just not feeling this version of Mike and I think I’m starting to agree with the Zombie haters on this one.

However, at least Zombie is making 2009 an exciting year for horror films. Every piece of news, picture and video that comes from his Halloween 2 film is in some way interesting. Even if his movie sucks he will be doing a lot more for the genre than Platinum Dunes has ever done, and even if you hate him you can’t deny him that. I have no idea what to expect from his film, but I know exactly what to expect from A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010. So bum Michael Myers aside this is one remake I am still curious to see.

Rob Zombie without a doubt \"gets\" white trash. He gets it! However, Halloween ISN\’T white trash.
One of the reasons Halloween worked so well, in my opinion, was the simplicity of it. A normal kid from a normal family goes apeshit — then, 15 years later, he breaks out of the nuthouse and does it on a larger scale. The more they tried to explain it with Samhain and Laurie being his sister and the Thorn nonsense… the worse it got. Not knowing is infinitely scarier than justifying or even empathizing with the killer.
While I respect Zombie\’s goal to expand the mythos, I won\’t concede my point that the more you add, the more you take away.
He is a maniak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
