All the important characters for Platinum Dunes’ remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street have finally been announced. Rooney Mara (Urban Legends: Bloody Mary) will be joining — Jackie Earle Haley (Freddy Krueger), Thomas Dekker (Jesse) and Kyle Gallner (Quentin) as Freddy’s nemesis, Nancy Thompson.

Nancy was originally played by Heather Langenkamp who also starred in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.

Elm Street starts filming May 5th in Chicago and is set for an April 16th, 2010 release date.
