STYD learned at this past weekend’s Fangoria convention that Lionsgate expressed no interest in doing a sequel to My Bloody Valentine 3D.

Director Patrick Lussier claims the studio wants to leave the film as a one-shot, and did not scoop up his idea for a second film. Maybe writer Todd Farmer wanted to have it set in space and they didn’t want a Jason X on their hands… Just kidding, but it is odd that with its box office success that they decided not to do another film.

My Bloody Valentine arrives on DVD and BluRay May 19th. Both versions will contain the 2D and 3D versions with four pairs of glasses, however, there have been some rumors that the glasses are the red and blue variety and not the new kind. Nothing has been confirmed…
