Elisabeth Shue Confirmed for Piranha 3D

Some may think Elisabeth Shue’s greatest movie roles were The Karate Kid or Back to the Future, but that was before Hamlet 2 came along. And now that it has been announced that she has officially joined Alex Aja’s Piranha 3D everybody and their brother will be claiming to be a Shue fan, however, I declare you cannot make this claim unless you have sat through Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story! This is how we will weed out the real Shue fans from the fakes!

Moviehole.net announced on Sunday that Shue “is indeed in negotiations to play the female lead.

“Shue is playing the role of Sherrif Julie Forester, a take-charge authority figure in the community of Lake Victoria – where the action/ankle-biting takes place. She’s the mother of Jake (one of the central characters in the film – the shy teenager who gets to prove his worth when human-eating fish threaten his family and friends), Laura and Zane.”

Aja’s remake will be shooting in Arizona with a planned March 19, 2010 release date.
