Back in February Doug Sakmann (HYB Radio — Listen Here) introduced us to the Back Street Film Festival where we met a lot of interesting people working on some great things. Some of the highlights included meeting Evan Meszaros who directed Windcroft (watch trailer), watching Tommy Pistol’s great short Attack of the Staph Spider, and the free booze!

However, the thing that aroused my interest the most was talk about a new David Hess film titled, Smash Cut from the director of Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, Lee Demarbre.

Hess plays film director, Able Whitman, who finds himself drowning his sorrows at a strip club after his latest film fails. When he takes a stripper named Gigi Stops home, and accidently kills her, he decides to use her body parts in his next horror film.

Smash Cut stars Sasha Grey, Michael Berryman with a special appearance by Herschell Gordon Lewis, check out the trailer below.
