Bio-Dead Trailer

Check out the trailer for Bio-Dead below. (via Gorezone).

And here is what Writer/Director Stephen J. Hadden told Fangoria about the film.

“BIO-DEAD was inspired by my love for postapocalyptic cinema, especially the films made by the Italians in the early 1980s,” Hadden says. “Since we didn’t have a budget significant enough to make an Enzo Castellari-style action extravaganza like 1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS or THE NEW BARBARIANS, I decided to take a different approach and create a horror film set inside that type of world. The visual style was also heavily influenced by the Italians, especially the wardrobe. As a child, my heart would race whenever characters popped up in white hazmat suits in films like Luigi Cozzi’s CONTAMINATION, Bruno Mattei’s RATS or Lucio Fulci’s ZOMBI 3. Those scenes were always the most memorable ones to me. So I decided to not only feature white hazmat suits in BIO-DEAD, but to have the main characters dressed in them for the entire duration of the film. Savvy fans might also notice other homages to ‘spaghetti horror,’ including a reference to the opening scene of Fulci’s masterpiece ZOMBIE.”

One last quick note: Why are Fangoria’s websites so ugly and amateurish? I have seen better MySpace page designs, but they do have ads for porn which is interesting.
