Thousands of hopeful teenagers showed up for the New Moon open casting call in Canada this weekend, but hundreds of them didn’t even make it into the building.
The Vancouver Sun reports that “around 12:30pm, casting assistants told the people lined up outside the studios that there would be no more people allowed in the building.” This apparently caused tears to be shed, broken hearts and accusations of line cutting. Welcome to Hollywood baby!
All the hoopla came after an ad on Craigslist appeared for “any first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25.” Aspiring actors from all over showed up in hopes to get their first acting break, turning the Twilight audition into an almost American Idol like atmosphere.
A casting assistant for Vancouver’s Aikins/Cossey Casting told the Sun, “This is more than we expected. It’s definitely a good turnout.”
So who were the lucky ones picked to star opposite of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the new Twilight film? We will let you know as soon as it is announced.
