Joss Whedon is Screwing With Us

Joss Whedon and I have something in common, we both like screwing with “Mr. Disgusting” over at Bloody-Disgusting.com. You may remember a fews weeks back everyone (including HYB) regurgitated a story that, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford were in final negotiations to join the cast of Whedon’s horror film, Cabin in the Woods. It also seems that BD was tipped off that Jena Malone was in talks to star in the film, but according to Whedon everyone was duped, even the New York Times.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator posted this on his official website:

“Turns out that the New York Times’s info about the plot summary and the casting of Jena Malone and Bill Nighy is completely wrong.”

“This is misinformation. While we are fans of both those actors, neither is attached to the movie. Just FYI.”

“However, they ARE attached to the Serenity sequel.”

“Oh. Also, they got the plot wrong.”

“In order to protect the story from spoilerization, we’ve been sending out our OWN misinformation, including fake sides for the actors, fake summeries, different names… So there’s gonna be a lot of ’information’ leaked that will lead to excited speculation about things you will not see. Sorry. But here’s some stuff you CAN look forward to, my word on it:

1) A person will have an emotion.

2) two people speaking, or “dialogue”, may occur.

3) A bunch of different people will play the part of Bob Dylan.

Hope that clears everything up. More updates soon!”

On a side note; in classic Mr. Disgusting fashion he couldn’t let something go without throwing one of his now famous hissy fits. Mr. D published this warning to Whedon on his own comments: “If they start playing games with us, I’ll write a full synopsis for the script and tell everyone what it’s about…. no reason to screw with our lively hood. JOSSSSSSSSSSSS, cut it outttttttttt.” You get’em Mr. D!

Thanks to HMF for tipping us off.
