The zombie has sure made a comeback and doesn’t look like it is going away anytime soon. Just off the top of my alcohol soaked brain, I can tell you that the man who defined the zombie genre, George Romero has a new walking dead film coming soon and of course there is the heavily anticipated, World War Z in the works. That is not counting the 5 to 10 low-budget zombie films I’m forgetting about and now Ruben Fleischer’s horror/comedy, Zombieland.

Like any great zombie flick Zombieland follows survivors in a post-apocalyptic world who have the battle the undead, but this movie is boasting some star power. Variety has already confirmed that Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg have signed to star in the film, and Superbad’s hottie Emma Stone is supposed to be in final negations to join the cast.

Now reports have surfaced that Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) is also joining the survivors in Zombieland.

The film begins shooting in Georgia soon and may have an October 2009 release.
