Brain Hammer’s DVD PICK for Tuesday 01/13/09: My Bloody Valentine!!!

Gory Greetings! Check out this week’s Brain Hammer approved horror dvd release, which hits stores Tuesday 01/13/09!

MY BLOODY VALENTINE (1981; special edition): Lionsgate

This classic 80′s slasher is set in the Canadian mining town of Valentine Bluffs. In a cruel twist of fate, the Bluffers have not celebrated Valentine’s Day in 20 years due to a terrible mining accident that occured on Valentine’s Day. This year is to be the first return of the Valentine’s Dance, repeatedly described by adults as the biggest event of the year, but someone is trying to put a stop to the fun by delivering heart-shaped candy boxes with real hearts inside them. The dance is called off in the name of public safety, the young people decide to hold a party inside the mine instead, and if you think we’re getting out of this one without someone getting a pickax through the chest, you have no business watching slasher movies!

Just in time to cash in on their big budget (and 3D!) remake, Lionsgate is presenting the original classic MY BLOODY VALENTINE on dvd, UNCUT and uncensored for the first time ever! For years, die hard slasher fans have heard the rumours about the missing gore that was trimmed away to earn an R rating. Now seeing is believing, and old Harry Warden will earn his rightful place next to other movie maniacs like Cropsy and Frank Zito. The newly added, completely uncut death scenes will make this dvd a fucking must have!

KEEP THE BLOOD FLOWING!!!
