Here is a very exciting rumor from the down under. Due to the success of the Twilight film, Joss Whedon may finally get his chance to make another Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.

The monster success of girly vampire pic Twilight at the US Box office last weekend could kick open the door for a big-screen return of Joss Whedon’s much-loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rumours are circulating in Hollywood that Whedon has a feature-film script based on his hit TV series ready to roll as soon as a studio is prepared to commit. The Buffy concept was first unveiled as a movie in 1992 with long-forgotten Kristy Swanson in the title role.

I think it would be safe to assume, that Sarah Michelle Gellar would return as Buffy, because even she couldn’t be stupid enough, to pass up an opportunity like this. I also really do hope this rumor is true, because we all could use a little more of the Buffyverse in our lives, but Whedon fans should know, never to get our hopes up too high.
