Eric Red announced at Screamfest that he will be directing the adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s Off Season. Red is probably best known for writing 1987’s Near Dark. His directing credits include Body Parts and Bad Moon.
Shocktillyoudrop.com talked to Red about the movie.
“Dallas [Jack Ketchum] and I have known each other for years and we’ve been talking about making this one,” he said. “It’s time, it’s the perfect time to do it.”
Here is the confusing part; Andrew Van Den Houten (who brought us Ketchum’s The Girl Next Door and The Lost) already shot Offspring this summer, Offspring is of course the sequel to Off Season, so basically part 2 was shot before part 1. We will have to see how it all works out, but it is exciting to see all these Ketchum movies finally being made.
If you have not read either of the books I highly suggest you do, you can buy them Here and Here
