Filming for George Romero’s new, untitled zombie movie begins today, but what is he filming? A sequel to Diary of the Dead? A remake of Lucio Fulci’s Zombie? Or just a new friggen zombie movie? Horror Movie Fans’ Sebastian Taro Groth says, his source, “news agencies who tried to be more credible” (meaning not Horror Yearbook), say that the new film is NOT a sequel to Diary at all, but just a zombie film on an island, much like Fulci’s Zombie.

A Nicolas Charnier, who is “involved with the film,” did confirm there will be underwater zombies:

“We’re shooting underwater zombies. They’re swimming, grabbing people’s legs, pulling them down. It’s a lot of fun.”

So what does this tell us? What we already knew, George Romero is making a new zombie film.
