Dark Night of the Scarecrow DVD Update

J.D. Feigelson dropped us a line to let us know that the DVD restoration of Dark Night of the Scarecrow is almost complete, and that he will be appearing at the Eerie PA Horror Fest Oct. 9-12 to meet with fans and show Dark Night on the big screen.

You may remember that Feigelson announced on HMF Radio, that the long sought after Dark Night of the Scarecrow was finally being released on DVD in 2009.

Feigelson also cleared up a misconception about Scarecrow’s PG-rating telling us:

“The fans seem to think that the lack of gore and sex in the film was because it was a TV movie. Not so. The movie that was shot was from my original FEATURE script with only minor dialog changes. My original intent was to make an independent feature, but before that happened CBS bought the script for TV. The director Frank De Felitta, the exec. producer Joe Wizan, the CBS exec. Bill Self and I decided that the show was too good to change and it was filmed virtually as written.”
