I was just talking about chasing rumors and bullshit news on, HMFRadio last night, but this one is true as far as I can see.

Director William Lustig spoke to the crowd at the Anthology Film Archives screening of Maniac Cop:

Lustig said: “Larry (Cohen) and I have gotten the sequel rights back for MANIAC COP, and we’re preparing to do a MANIAC COP 4. I don’t have any more details other than that; this all happened within the last month, so it’s so fresh… When I get back to Los Angeles, Larry and I are going to sit down and work on something.”

Very exciting news just keeps coming in 2008. With releases of Pieces and Dark Night of the Scarecrow on DVD, a Puppet Master sequel, and now a possible Maniac Cop sequel, 2008 has been one orgasm after another for horror fans who grew up in the 80′s and 90′s.
