The original Scorpion King gave me hopes and dreams that The Rock would become our next great action hero, but like Vin Diesel and Ice Cube those dreams where dashed when they were all scooped up by the family movie gods. Now the Scorpion King franchise has been sent to the video store shelves, the same place The Mummyfranchise probably belongs.
The prequel The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior comes to DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def on August 19, 2008 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. In addition, a special Scorpion King Warrior Pack will be available day and date, containing the new DVD as well as the original action blockbuster DVD, The Scorpion King starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
