Director Paul W.S. Anderson has decided to screw up the 1975 Roger Corman classic, Death Race 2000, first by changing the name to Death Race 3000 then by changing the entire movie. Death Race is one of those rare films that could have benefitted from a remake, but it seems they removed the best part of the original, where contestants in the race scored points by killing people.
Instead of a brutal, political satire, Death Race is now some bad looking action film, so bad even the poster sucks. Anderson’s version is being released August 22nd, 2008.
