I was on my way home to finally watch Poultrygeist when I noticed the announcement that Brian De Palma will be directing a film about the Boston Strangler.
The Boston Stranglers is being produced by Gale Anne Hurd for her Valhalla Motion Pictures company. It will be based on the book (with the longest title ever) The Boston Stranglers: The Public Conviction of Albert DeSalvo and the True Story of Eleven Shocking Murders that was written by Susan Kelly and adapted for film by Alan Rosen.
In 1965 Albert DeSalvo confessed to the 11 Boston Strangler murders while in custody on other unrelated charges. He could not give accurate details of the crimes and was never convicted for being The Strangler, however he was convicted on the previous charges in 1967 and stabbed to death in 1973.
